Invaluable Lessons for the Little Lady in Your Life

BookLook Blogger's offers me some tremendous experiences.  Reviewing The Sweetest Story Bible for Toddlers has been such an honor.  It's small and sturdy enough to fit into the tiny hands of little girls eager to learn of God's word.  The Sweetest Story is all right adorable.  This precious Zonderkidz Bible features eight scripture stories with just enough information to keep your little ones attention along with lovely illustrations provided by Sheila Bailey.  Diane Stortz gets credit for writing.  The little girl in your life will cherish this pretty pink dainty Bible which contains invaluable lessons she can apply to her young life.

Depression~Why You Just Can't Snap Out of It

        If you have ever been plagued by the dark clouds of depression and felt that there was no more hope or nowhere to turn, Gregory L. Jantz PHD will help you understand the pitfalls of this chemical imbalance and how you can appropriately get the help you need.  This book is also highly recommended to those who have family members with this disease.  Contrary to popular belief, an individual with a mental disorder cannot just wish it away although well meaning friends and relatives will expect them to do so.  This stellar book will open your eyes to the fact that depression is a chemical imbalance which needs to be treated appropriately by a psychiatrist and/or psychologist.  Depending on the degree and determination of the type of depression, most likely the doctor will prescribe anti-depressants and therapy.  The important fact is to realize, the afflicted can get better.  Many who have went through treatment are more content in their lives than those who never experienced the difficulties they went through.  Dr. Jantz outlines all the symptoms of depression so that the reader can interact.  He includes written lessons for the victim to do as well as giving them questions on what they have learnt.  This book will prove to be a blessing to all those who read it.  I was given the pleasure to review from Walterbrook Multnomah Blogging For Books Program.

Life Lessons From Pets & Wildlife

 

When Waterbrook Multnomah Blogging Group extended me the ability to review this fine book, "God of All Creation~Life Lessons From Pets & Wildlife" by James Robinson in exchange for my honest opinions I pounced on this.  I awaited in excitement and anticipation because of my personal experiences with our  cairn terrier which was given to our family as a gift.  My very first reaction when we were given 'Lincoln" was that the last thing we needed was a puppy in our brand new house and I put a struggle up during the first few weeks.  My patient spouse on the other hand was like a school boy voting for the dog and trying to get me to see his side.  Long story short, I became physically limited in the last few years and many days I am in dier pain and the one thing I can count on daily to lift my spirits is our pet, Lincoln.  He took a liking to me right away and would follow me like a little sheep and cry when I wasn't in sight for him.  I could never figure how he latched onto me, the only one who really didn't want him but Oh what love and loyalty.  It didn't take him too long to melt my heart and now he is constantly at my side and momma's boy.  Nobody can tell me that pets don't know when you are sick or down because they do...he is a constant source of joy and I can't imagine life without him.  James Robison compares our love of our pets to God's love for us in a very sweet way throughout the pages of the book.  The author goes on to say that '" If a dog can be trained to act according to it's purpose and not get sidetracked , how much more than should we learn to live the kind of life God designed for us?"'  This is the underlying thought throughout God of Creation and the author gives us numerous examples of how well each animal species obeys it's call.  l found delight reading and learning much about God's creation.  The illustrations are stellar.  Yes, I would highly recommend especially for pet lovers.

How to Strengthen Family Bonds

Nothing is more important than family and the bonds that we create with our loved ones. Dave Stone,a Senior Pastor of Southern Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky addresses how to create and keep strong family bonds. Having a family of three children himself, he is well aware of the issues and difficulties one might face in raising a strong Christian unit in today's world. He offers simple and easy advice amid humor and common sense. In one of my favorite chapters "Meat and Potatoes: The Basic's" author Stone states the importance of making time productive with your family. This can be done at the dinner table by creating games like the 'talking bowl' or 'index cards' to spark a response from each family member on imperative issues. A stellar idea to keep close contact especially since so many members of today's family has little extra time when working more than one job. What I took from this awesome book is that we must make family a priority and find the time to make our moments count. I had the priviledge to review BUILDING FAMILY TIES WITH FAITH, LOVE & LAUGHTER by Dave Stone for Book Sneeze. I highly recommend!
