What I Want For Christmas~ Your Votes!

Save a Young Person's Life by Voting In the 1990's while I was a Psychology Major, I wrote a term paper on how important it is to educate our young about the symptoms and signs of depression.  I felt that if the Government thought that Gym class was important for our physical health, how much more of a need for a mental health class.  My term paper won me a Big A and my professor at the time wrote across the heading of  my project...."But who would fund this enormous task?"  I'm delighted that I am here today to see this dream so close to becoming a reality.  Everyone can help youth who suffer with depression with their votes in Pepsi's Refresh Challenge.  The Challenge will be running until December 31st and you can vote each  day!

God is the Same Yesterday, Today and Forever

If God led the Isrealites out of the Wilderness and into the Land of Milk and Honey with signs of his divine guidance in the days of old, would he not do the same for his children today if they asked him? Exodus 13:21 reads "And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, guiding them on their way; and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light: so that they were able to go on day and night." My Blog, "Miracles" was created in hopes of sharing some of the experiences I have had where I was blessed by God's Divine interaction in my life. I would like to begin with this true story of answered prayer. Shortly after my husband and I had bought our first home our refridgerator went haywire. I tried not to complain because our finances were very tight and I knew we were in no position to buy a new one. One morning, after I seen my husband leave for work I went to the refridgerator to get the baby formula for our little one, Nicole. I knew that it had gone bad when I went to warm it up. I immediately ran into the living room, got down on my knees and wept. The only one I felt that I could turn to with this major problem was the Lord. I prayed that he would provide our family with our needs and right now we needed a refridgerator. Suddenly the phone rang and it was my mother. She was calling from work to ask me if I needed a refridgerator. My mother had no idea that we were having problems with ours. It just happened that the people that she worked for in Grosse Pte, MI had bought a new one that was being delivered. They needed this one out of their house before the new one arrived. Let me repeat here, my mother had no idea because I never told her. Some may say it's just coincidence. I beg to differ. God answered my prayers. I went on to tell my mother than of just how badly we needed that appliance and that her call saved my day. That night I went to church and testified of God's goodness. Yes, God is alive and he does hear our prayers! From time to time, I will be sharing more experiences on The Miracle Page of my blog. Keep checking back and feel free to share~

A Symphony of Praises

If I could conduct a symphony, I would call upon the clouds to assemble together and Thunder Out our Inward Praises~
Each Branch of Every Tree would Reach Towards Heaven
Reaching out to you

And as every creatures knee bowed to the Earth praying Contrite to You
I'd call upon the Sun to Cause A Rainbow in Tribute

Each Star Near or Far would shine it's Brightest and
Each Heart would pound and Cry "I Love You"
My Song Would Last Forever...My Song to You, Father.

I've been writing since I was a young girl, the above poem was written December 15, 1973. I'll be sharing more of my poetry (my heart song's) under the Poetry page. Feel free to share and I Pray that it Blesses and encourages you in your spiritual undertakings!

Outlive Your Life By Max Lucado & A Book Giveaway!

Max Lucado challenge's believer's to be more like Christ in his inspiring book, Outlive Your Life.  He reminds the reader of the difficult times that we are living in and the hope that we have.  Christain's are called to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ.  This book reminds me of  a saying I once heard that made a great impression on my life, that the greatest preaching does not come from speaking but through our actions.  By living one's faith.  Max Lucado guides us through the Gospel of Acts and the Days of Pentecost urging us to have that same commitment and like enthusiasm to walk daily in the Spirit.  In his book he states that when you look upon the poor, you are looking at Jesus.  When you look at the needy, you are looking at Christ.  We all can do our part in assisting and showing the Love of  God.  In doing so, our lives are more enriched and those around us will be blest.  Max Lucado stresses that with each one doing our part we can reach a multitude of  souls.  We will be leaving a legeny, making our mark on a world that so badly needs the Truth.  He also forewarns us that it won't be easy  and that we must expect persecution.  The members of the early church put the Lord first in all that they did and God blessed them greatly for their efforts.  I love the urgency that the author puts in his writings as he reminds us that the time for action is now.  I had the great priviledge of reviewing this book for Book Sneeze.  In celebration of  the start of my new blog,  I will be running a giveaway. All you have to do is become a friend of this blog and comment.  The contest runs until Oct. 31, 2010 at Midnight (EST).  Winner will be announced here.  Spread the news!  I will be giving away one copy of  Max Lucado's "Outlive Your Life".

A Spiritual Platter

When my Grandfather DiFalco came to America seeking riches, little did he know what God had in store for him.  He left his hometown of  Venice, Italy in his early twenties in search of a better life.  He met my Grandmother Rapheala and after a short courtship, they married and settled in Detroit, MI.  Grandpa landed a very good job at Ford Motor Company and it was a blessing he did as he would bare twelve children.  When my grandmother was pregnant with my father, Ether, she decided to give her life to Christ.  Grandpa and Grandma were both attending The Church of Jesus Christ~The Restored Gospel and fell in love with The Word of God and wanted that lifestyle for their family.  In time both of my grandparents were baptised and raised their family in a Christain home.  By the time I came around, the entire family was fervent in serving the Lord and I happened to be blessed into a huge immediate and extended family that put God first.  Although I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I feel that I received much more.  I was given a spiritual platter.  I was raised in the Church, became baptised in my teenage years and have experienced walking in the Spirit for more than forty years.  I grew up hearing many of the brothers and sisters testify about how God did miracles for them and over the years have witnessed miracles in my own life over and over again.  Thus, the title for my blog "Miracles".  I didn't realize that other people did not have the same background as I and even now I find it hard that people question if Miracles truly occur.  The purpose of my blog is to share some of my many experiences in hopes of  encouraging others.  I believe that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. The many blessings he has given me, he is able to do for others if we open the door.  My heart is overflowing with gratefulness and I have found, that by putting God first, everyday is true joy. The key to contentment is being thankful no matter where we are in this life.  Thank you for wanting to share in my journey.
