Next Cognitive Therapy By Naming What You See in The Clouds

Have you heard?  Right up there with living off the land and getting back to basics, we now have adult coloring books for unwinding and relieving stress.  It really does make sense and now I wonder, Why didn't I think of that?  Waterbrook Press comprised this collection of  beautiful pictures and spiritual quotes from inspired authors or beloved hymns.  Creating is enjoyable.  Coloring is calming.  I recall many fond memories of coloring right along with my children while they were growing up  Using adult coloring books as a tool for therapy is not that far fetched.
These books differ from children's coloring books in many ways.  For one, the book is quite large and the paper is stronger so that the owner can put their finished products in frames to share.  That being one of the reasons the books are more expensive.  Also these coloring books all have a certain theme to allow the owner to escape their daily problems if but  for a little while.
I have really enjoyed reviewing this outstanding product for Blogging for Books.

Christmas 2015

Last night I was sitting back reflecting on the past year and my heart swelled with such gratitude. I got everything I wanted and feel spoiled not just by my family and friends but also by God.  It's amazing to see how circumstances worked out when I was close to losing Faith.  The end result being much joy and many blessings.  I would plea, never ever give up because God's way truly is the Best even when we cannot see.
I can't help but contemplate on the things my husband does for us (his family) and always with such love.  What a wonderful world it would be if there were more Harold's; a true gentleman who bends over backwards to help others out.  I could never ask for a better spouse.
This year my little sister came home twice (spiritually & naturally).  My soul sings with such joy renewing our relationship which was hard to keep up when she lived miles away.  Now back in Michigan it's like we never ever were apart.
The Lord saw my many fastings and prayer for my youngest daughter.  He initiated a wonderful Miracle in her life and no sooner did things resolve in her life than an unexpected emergency occurred in my eldest daughter's life.  Nicole & Nick being close to twenty years of marriage and who gave me Bailey & Cara (Bailey being 17 years and Cara 16)  became pregnant again.  She had a very difficult delivery and withstood many blood tranfustions but Thank God she is ok today and we are all loopy with love for our newest addition, Brayden,
Through our Church I became very close friends with a sweet sister from Georgia.  Sister Kenah Knowles.  Although we have never met in person, it's like we knew one another all of our lives.  She has become an inspiration by sharing her experiences and a prayer partner for life.  Pray for our dear sister who lost her husband not long ago.  He being a member and she is my age.  Their love and bond through God was great and the separation has been difficult.
Oh the Great Love of God.  He is so real and real in our lives if we would but have Him.  I began 2015 with many concerns and I watched as the Lord worked through each situation and only through Him was I able to make it through to enjoy the end results...of pure joy~

Not Just A Story of Losing A Child; This Book Is An Answered Prayer

As a christian, I always have believed in Miracles.  The book, Rare Bird by Anna Whiston~Donaldson was an answered prayer for me.  It's the true, tender story about how the author loses her son and how she copes with the most difficult situation any person can face.  This New York Times best seller came to me at exactly the perfect time.  Unlike other books on this same subject, the author offers hope through her suffering and finds a closer relationship with God after losing her beloved child.  My best friend, lost her second child to cancer this past March and I have been trying desperately to reassure her that God can help her with her pain.  As humans, it's always easier and more true when we hear this from someone who has experienced what we have gone through.  I couldn't wait to give a copy of this heart touching read.  I am also ordering a copy for my Aunt and Uncle whom, just a couple weeks ago, lost their third child.  My cousin Jimmy.  It has been a blessing reviewing this true account for Blogging for Books.  I recommend highly for Clergy and those who serve the public.  Personally I will be keeping several copies on hand.

Money Making Moms is a Brilliant Resource

New York Times Bestselling author, Crystal Paine shares her expertise in learning to become your own boss and create a successful business.  Ms. Paine is also well known online for the popular website Mommy Saving Mom .  In her newest book, she covers everything the reader needs to be aware of to start a business.  She even gives tips on the type of career to venture into.  Many young women are drawn to her because she has made her own dream a reality and now she gladly is passing all that information on.  The book gives practical and concise advice and brings one closer to acheiving their business.  Finally the perfect book for stay at home mothers.  I was given the opportunity to review this book through Book Look Bloggers.  Money Making Moms is brilliant, easy to understand and comes with my utmost recommendations.

Ten Skills Every Man Must Develop to Love His Wife Well

Author's Darrin & Amie Patrick tackle that old question, What does my wife want?  They prove that if you infiltrate these ten basic attributes (worship; listening; submitting; serving; providing among others) that you will become the best spouse ever.  The book is directed towards christian men where they can incorporate their belief's and put faith into action, although I highly recommend for all young men who want a thriving marriage.  Being blessed with a very happy union with my spouse and thoroughly enjoying marriage life, I can confirm that what the authors convey is true.  For many, the tasks may mean change and at a step at a time.  For others, who are selfless and who enjoy giving this book is a good reminder during difficult stages.  The authors provide questions and answer opportunities so that the readers can interact along with their partners.  There are a number of fun opportunities listed to get closer to your wife.  Overall a great read and learning tool.  I was given the great opportunity of reviewing this book for Book Look Bloggers.

About Arranged - FYI Network

2015 and "Arranged" is at the top of my  list of stellar programs on television.  Noone gets in between my favorite program and my off time.  It may be because my background is very similar to the families portrayed in this reality show.  No, our family does not believe in arranged marriages but once that is set aside...it's like reliving my young years in a very close knit Italian family with staunch belief's in family and making marriage last.  I come from a very large old school Italian broad.  Grandpa Antonio & Grandma Rafeala gave birth to 19 children (long before 19 kids and counting).  They owned a huge duplex, with 2 apartments atop their primary residence.  When I was young our family lived in the upper front apartment while my Uncle Tony and his family lived in the back.  I thought at that time that we were rich because our street was riddled with aunt and uncles and cousins.  I thought the DiFalco's owned the street in Detroit in the early 60's.  I seen my cousins on a daily basis so we grew up more like brothers and sisters rather than cousins.  We went to school together, played together and everyone ate downstairs at grandma's place.  The kids all felt overwhelmed with lots of supervisors because whenever our parents weren't around, there was always an aunt or uncle there to keep an eye out on us...myself included.  I cherish those days and the memories.  It would take me years before I found out that not everybody grew up that way.  Our family was deeply spiritual and had many ground rules like respect your parents, showing respect and not bringing reproach to our family name. So in a lot of ways I can relate to 'Christian & Maria's' lifestyle.  Perhaps this is why this program brings a warm inner feeling when it airs.  I wish only the best for all the couples.  I dearly love learning about diverse cultures. About Arranged - FYI Network:

John Rosemond Takes Baby Boomers On A Sweet Venture Down Memory Lane

John Rosemond's "Grandma Was Right After All" takes an in depth view of old fashioned parenting vs today's parenting.  Many of us baby boomers remember this era as the pre Dr. Spock days when parents only goal was setting boundaries in order to prepare their children for their future.  At that time discipline was the highest form of love.  Many thought that parents were too stern but in the long run, their methods worked  As a by product of the seventies I was blessed in that regard.  The author playfully discusses the many sayings that were common to everyone's parents.  Rosemond takes us on a fun journey down memory lane.  How awesome life would be if this old fashioned parenting were still implicated today. Kudos to the Tyndale Blogger Community for allowing me to receive a copy of this excellent book in exchange for my review.  What a Remarkable Read~

How #Rhodes Bake & Serve Made My Special Week So Much Easier!

My daughter giving birth to another child after 17 years was a big surprize.  A few weeks back we welcomed little Brayden into the family.  That meant family & friends coming in from out of town to visit our newest member.  It was nothing to have between 5-10 guests at every meal.  #Tryazon gave me a perfect idea for breakfast.  I knew #Rhodes Bake & Serve Cinnamon Rolls would make for a big hit.  These are so simple to bake and only take fifteen minutes to prepare.  Once in the oven our home had the sweetest aroma which urged everyone to the breakfast table.
Needless to say everyone just loved the cinnamon rolls; especially the fellows.  #Rhodes also came in handy at dinnertime.  Rhodes dinner rolls were the perfect addition to my homemade pasta and meatball supper.  The rolls were so simple to prepare, I thawed them at room temperature and let them rise and stick them in the oven to bake.  My reward from my guests was an empty plate and smiling faces.  My reward to my guests were the coupons provided by #Tryazon for them to take home and use.

Kudos to #Rhodes and to #Tryazon for making my meals a success.  Now for the best part...see below

Brutally Honest, Could Not Put 'The Plain Choice' down.

"The Plain Choice- a true story of Choosing to Live an Amish Life" is one book I could not put down without completing.  It's not your typical amish story.  Sherry Gore's background includes a life of neglect and abuse, drugs, loss of loved ones, homelessness  and rebelliousness...certainly not the simple quiet life of the Amish.  Raised among the rich and famous in California, Sherry never feels as if she fits in.  As a young person she eludes all the glitter and ventures to Florida.  Here she comes face to face with homelessness and defeat.  She changes her name and try as she may to isolate from family, a miracle occurs when a relative takes her in to get her back on her feet.  Sherry continues to look for love in all the wrong places and suffers by the hand of a controlling mate.  Kudos to Sherry for sharing her successful plan on leaving an abusive partner.  This part of her journey is a must read for all those caught in similar conditions also answers the question as to why victims just don't leave their abusers.  Sherry Gore's true story is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to learn about what victim's go through.  She also shares the birth and joy of her children; the devastating loss of her best friend and sister whom also was in an abusive relationship and concludes with her spiritual awakening (the need for God) and the contentment that brings.  Sherry finds her true self in the serving of God.  This book is an excellent read.  I had the priviledge of reading and reviewing for BookLook Bloggers.

Monika Korra's Rise Above Adversity

Monika Korra refused defeat; although she was brutally raped by three individuals on her way home from a party while she was in college she determined to rise above this horrific experience.  In her book, Kill The Silence A Survivor's Life Reclaimed Monika bravely recounts the night she was abused and allows the reader to follow step by step in her healing.  There is much to be learnt about courage from this amazing woman.  Definitely her story is so compelling that I would encourage others to put on their "must read" list.  Kill The Silence is my favorite read for 2015 and I had the honor of reading for the  Blogging for Books website.

Bedtime Devotions With Jesus

The sweetest little devotional for children which examines a new bible verse daily.  Speaking in terms a child would understand easily, the author relates a story to further examine the verse.  Actually Bedtime Devotions was created by many pastors and church leaders.  The illustrations are adorable.  This book makes for the perfect bedtime story and learning time between parent and child.  I highly recommend as a gift.  A wonderful way to teach our children the value of God's Love in our life.  I was given the perfect opportunity to review this book for the Book Look Network.

Inspiralized: Turns Ordinary Vegetables into Extraordinary Meals

Growing up Italian and struggling with menopause, I knew I had to do something about the unwanted weight gain that just naturally comes with growing older.  Knowing I would have to give up on a lot of my favorite foods was going to be difficult but I sought out some way that I could still have my pasta sauce and eat it too!  Kudos to Ali Maffucci and "Inspiralized turn vegetables into healthy, creative, satisfying meals" my new meal plans would be way less difficult and actually delicious.  I had just bought Veggetti slicer and this book opened the door to dozens of different recipes I could enjoy with it.  Whatever your vegetable of choice:  zucchini, eggplant, carrots, onions, squash, or cucumber to name but a few...this cookbook has sensational recipes to keep your tastebuds begging for more without the calories.  Ali Maffuci even has a section of healthy snacks, what more can we ask for.  This book is not only a blessing for me but my favorite book of the year which will get much use in the coming years.  I highly recommend.  I had the priviledge of reviewing this book for Blogging for Books.  A+

Finding some Light through the Media

Growing up in a faith based family, I can totally relate to Kevin Harvey's new book "The Bible in Pop Culture; Finding our creator in superheroes, prince charming and other modern marvels".  It was a real treat to find Faith mentioned in the media through song, books, plays or movies as a teenager to confirm my belief.  While I was growing up in the seventies, my christian friends and I rocked to Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky" and learnt all the words to the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar".  The Staple Singer's made billboard hits of "Respect Yourself" and "I'll Take You There".  When Star Wars hit the big screen everyone was on board to taking the side of the good force.  So we were blessed with a number of inspirational sources and we actively sought them out.
Kevin Harvey presents today's inspirational and faith filled films and examines how they affect christians of today.  One of my favorite movies "The Book of Eli" with Denzel Washington is listed along with "Bruce Almighty" which features Jim Carey.  The author even compares the infamous family, the Kardashians to dysfunctional families from the beginning of time in the Bible.  This book is geared towards teenagers and young adults.  There is even a section of puzzles and word games.  I was granted the ability to read this book for BookLook bloggers in exchange for my honest review.  Great gift for teens~

God's Tender Messages To A Grieving Father~

The Hope of Heaven (God's Eight Messages of Assurance to A Grieving Father) by Alan M. Hallene Jr. is a confirmation that God still speaks to us today even in our darkest hour.  The author of this true story is brave to share every detail of his son's suicide in order to reach others and spare such a tragedy from occuring to them.  Heart wrenching but uplifting, this book is bittersweet and has many powerful messages.  At times it is raw and hard to read making the message more remarkable as we realize the pain the Hallene family had to endure in order to recall and share it.  I was honored to review this book for the BookLook community in exchange for my views.  This book is an excellent resource not only for those who lost loved ones but also is instrumental for those facing depression.  All christains would benefit by reading.

Excellent Resource for All Gardening Enthusiast

As a gardening enthusiast for more than thirty five years, I can appreciate all that one must know to produce prolific outcomes.  My passion was embred early on after accidently cutting off my favorite grandpa's prize roses.  Part of my punishment was learning all the work it took to keep his collection going.  As a young mother interested in giving her children the very best food choices; I immediately began growing my own vegetables.  Oh how I wish I had the knowledge that is available in Karen Newcombs book "The Postage Stamp Vegetable Garden" which leans towards growing in tiny spaces and containers but offers so much more pertinent information for all growers.  The author emphasizes on organic gardening and there is a whole chapter dedicated to the different types of vegetables, many of which I didn't know of.  She covers everything from preparing the proper soil, when and how to plant and there is a special chapter which I really appreciated on controlling pests, diseases and critters.  This latter information is key to whether your garden will survive or not.  This is an excellent resource for all gardeners and would make for an awesome gift.  To learn more about Karen Newcomb .   I was given the wonderful opportunity of reviewing this book for Blogging for Books.

An Extraordinary Love Story Between Man And His Best Friend

Tyndale's '"Stay Lessons my dogs taught me about life, loss and grace"' by Dave Burchett is a treasure for all pet lovers.  Those who realize the special kinship that only their furry friend can bring will relate to this true story of love and loyalty.  Dave Burchett adopts Hannah, a beautiful labrador who not only becomes a playmate but a comfort for his wife while she battles cancer.  The author is touched by the many lessons he learns from Hannah about being patient, living in the moment and surrendering during her time on Earth.  The Lord himself said that he would use the weak to confound the wise.  The bond between owner and pet is so strong that it supercedes many human connections.  When Hannah faces cancer, herself, she lives each day to the fullest and battles bravely.  This outstanding book will inspire many.  I was given the great priviledge of reviewing for Tyndale Books in exchange for my true thoughts.

Much to learn from Discipleship

I really enjoyed this book by J Heinrich Arnold entitled "Discipleship, Living for Christ in the Daily Grind". Many of my personal questions were answered regarding different scriptures and what they meant.  One example being where Jesus states that '"anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me"'.  Arnold plainly explains that those of us who get caught up with the drama brought on by family life whereby we lose sight of the Holy Spirit and the pure love of Christ.  This is one book that I decided to take as much time as I needed to study and re-study.  I am not surprized by the number of supporters of this book that he has; Mother Teresa, Jimmy Carter and Elisabeth Elliot among more.  I had the priviledge of reading for Handlebar Publishing.

Abby Johnson Takes Stand Against Abortion

As a former Planned Parenthood Leader, Abby Johnson did everything to justify the reason she was assisting in abortion so that she could live with her conscious.  She would fool herself by telling herself that if she didn't help these women out that they would go to an illegal abortion doctor and possibly die.  She even convinced herself that she was doing God's will and would attend churches which purposely didn't have a strong stand against abortion.  In her true account "Unplanned" Abby reveals what opened her eyes to the real dangers and damages of abortion and how she was spiritually transformed.  Her testimony is strong and loud and she shares that everything about Planned Parenthood is a lie.  I was given the opportunity to read this tremendous experience from Tyndale Blog Network in exchange for my honest opinion.  I highly recommend this book.

Joanne Huist Smith's The 13th Gift proves that there are still good Samaritan's in the world and that Charity conquers all.  This true account of a Christmas Miracle can be read at any time in the year.  Anytime you need a lift for your spirit.  The writer retell's of her first Christmas after the death of her spouse when she feels overwhelmed and totally alone.  She wants to make the Holiday's special for her children but funds are strained.  When word spreads among friends and neighbors, they get together to make Christmas special for her and the children.  A very touching book with a powerful message.  One that I can read over and over again.  I was fortunate to review this book for Blogging for Books.  To read more about the author .
