The Bible of What Is On Your Dog's Mind

For most, their precious pups are part of  their family.  Dogs melt our heart and bring comfort in ways nobody else can.  So when the opportunity arises where we can communicate with our furry friends, everyone jumps at the chance.  Victoria Stilwell, star of Animal Planet's It's Me or the Dog has created the perfect book for owners to learn what is going on in their pet's minds.  Every time that I notice a different look on my dogs face I run and get my copy of The Secret Language of Dogs ~ Unlocking the Canine Mind for a Happier Pet.  I cherish this book and have learned a lot in a few short weeks.
There is a section on how to speak to your pet and what tones to use.  This helps greatly when training little fido.  There are also sections on pet behaviors which disturb us and how we can get them out of bad habits.
I rate this stellar book with all stars and am grateful I was able to read in exchange for my reviews for Blogging for Books.

Everything You Need to Know While Caregiving

Jane Daly realizes how bittersweet caring for our aging parents can be.  She expresses this well in the account of experiences she had in caring for her family.  The Caregiving Season, Finding Grace to Honor Your Aging Parents offers sound advice, support and consolation for those enduring the same.  Her choice of scripture brings encouragement.  Having been through this stage of Life I concur that many times our emotions feel like they are on a roller coaster.  The Author is sensitive in preparing us for the worst.  Jane Daly's book is a true gift for all caregivers.  She also shares how to find time to take care of ourselves.
I highly recommend.
I was honored to read this book for the Tyndale Bloggers in exchange for my thoughts.

Inspirational Coloring

Multnomah's God Bless America 'A Patriotic Coloring Book' was laying eloquently across our coffee table when my mother flew in on an emergency trip to Michigan from Florida.  The moment my mother caught it's gaze, she was thrilled.  Wanting this masterpiece for myself, I asked my mother if she realized it was a coloring book.  And than came her words, "But you bought it for me, didn't you?'.  No I hadn't said that but she had a way of making me believe it.  After all mom came in to help me after my first heart attack.  Yes, at the young age of 60 I endured a heart attack on June 16, 2016.  It's the least I can do (give her the book) to show my appreciation.  The inspirational quotes and biblical messages would bring her comfort in the days ahead.  Multnomah is one of my favorite Christian Publishing houses.  I was offered the opportunity to read this best seller for Book Look Bloggers in exchange for my view.

The Color Code Bible~ Great for Adult's Too!

When it come's to the Holy Scriptures, I am all for anything that aid's in the learning process.  There are so many extra tools in the NKJV Color Code Bible to enhance the reading experience that even, I, at 60 years of age would keep this for my own reference.  I commend Thomas Nelson for their creavity and knowledge to put together this spectacular bible.  Yes, it was intended for children, but would also aide those with vision problems.  The color coding is adorable.  Purple words are in reference to Heaven, Gold words are God and that's how the system works.
This Bible also lists all the prophetic books along with the major prophets and minor prophets; the books of history and books of poetry.  There is a whole section on where you can find certain stories such as where you can read about Solomon or Samuel ext.  These all enhance reading the Bible.  I highly recommend to young and old alike.  I was given the opportunity to review through Book Look Bloggers.

Welch's Passion is Infectious

Brian 'Head' Welch's newest release With Eyes Wide Open kept me captivated for fourteen hours. The time it took me to read his book from cover to cover.  My youngest daughter is the Korn fan.  I read for the spiritual journey.  I was eager to learn about Brian's walk with Christ and was astounded by what He already knew.  He spoke like a seasoned christian putting away any doubts about His submitting everything over to the Lord.  Most new christian's are naive thinking  that once they promise to serve God, their lives will be perfect.  Welch knew better that God doesn't promise us a rose garden but He does promise to be there to get through the rough spots.  The author is very humble and sincere in doing things God's way and his story is a testimony of how God works during our difficult times to bring about a brighter end for us.
This book should definitely prove why we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.  I am grateful that the author shared his experiences with us which everyone can learn from.  Book Look Bloggers gave me the opportunity to read in exchange for my honest opinions.

Grieving the Loss of a Loved One ~

Kathe Wunnenberg offers a resource of daily comfort as individuals face each day without their loved ones.  She successfully shares personal experience along with scripture to help her readers tackle the roller coaster of emotionals a person goes through while grieving.  This book would make a marvelous gift for anyone whose beloved has died.  I could never figure out why individuals spend a fortune on flowers which are here and gone tomorrow.  Kathe's book would last a long time and be a help in aiding the healing process.  I have read many books on grieving and feel Ms. Wunnenberg's deserves highest honor.
Today I will be attending my cousin's mother's funeral.  My cousin, Teri and I are very close.  In the course of this last year, her father passed away and than her son died and now her mother.  I will be giving her this book, Grieving the Loss of a Loved One in hopes that it comforts her throughout this difficult past year.
I highly recommend.  I had the honor of reading for BookLook Bloggers in exchange for my honest opinion.

Our Lives Had Once Been Beautiful and Our Lives Are Beautiful Still

September Vaudrey's, Colors of Goodbye has moved me more than any other book I have ever read on loss.  Her loss is a parent's worse nightmare, that of losing a child.  Katie, her amazing daughter (a daughter that any parent would be proud to have) dies suddenly of an aneurysm at the young age of 19. Any doubt of the Vaudrey's faith in God is relinquished when reading this true account.  September shares her raw struggles which match what many Christians face when facing tragedy yet I have never seen in publication.  Mom Vaudrey questions whether the loss of her daughter is somehow because of something she did in the past.  Read along as genuine friends reassure her that it is not her fault.  From the point of impact of the accident on God makes himself known with visions and miracles to aide the Vaudrey family through their heartbreak.  Real evidence that God is there and that God is Good (Author's words) even when we think He is not.  Ms. Vaudrey's growth through her pain offers Hope to all that the sun will shine again and that they don't have to give in to bitterness and anger.  This stellar publication offers tools to help all those facing horrendous loss.  Special Kudos to Katie Vaudrey for leaving a life of ripples and to September Vaudrey for having the courage to share their story.  I am more than honored to have been able to review this book for the Tyndale Blog Network in exchange for my thoughts.  Think upon these wise words from the writer,
'"God never promised me a lifetime with my daughter.  He never promised me any of the blessings I get to treasure everyday. He promises us comfort in sorrow, strength when our faith fails, inexplicable peace, His presence in storms and life in all its fulness for those who follow him---but not a pain free life.  And the things he promises, He delivers."'

Movie Review: 94 Feet

FishFlix is a prominent Christian Movie Online Store designed to deepen your faith.  Imagine my surprise when I was contacted by their representative to do reviews for them.  What an Honor!  They are noted for '"featuring thousands of Christian dvds , everyday low prices and FREE shipping for orders over $40.'"  How phenomenal is that?  Family oriented entertainment at an affordable price.
Those that join the FishFlix mailing list and/or text 5-GIFT to 44222 will receive a $5 coupon to FishFlix.com.
With such a wide array of Christian topics to view (biographies, end times, children and sports to name a few) in film and movies they don't disappoint.  I have since become a huge fan of FishFlix.

FishFlix sent me the newly released movie  94 Feet which is the harrowing story of a small Indiana coal mining community which is met with catastrophe. Although the location is fiction based, the events are true St. Michaels is a town where people work hard.  They are family oriented and basically good people. St. Michaels has been financially spent since a number of their businesses have gone bankrupt. The movie focuses on the layoff's of the coal miners group;  which the people respected for generations.  Now it is feared that it will lend to their doom.  Long standing members of the town decide to leave.  Others are on the brink of losing hope. The characters are impeccable, making the story come to life.  While watching I felt akin to Chris and Denise Rossi who both lost their father's to coal mining collapses.  Chris has a best friend, Marco who is quite the character.  Their friendship keeps the watchers on a roller coaster of laughter and tears.  And than it happens, on what seems to be the last work for many who were laid off or who are leaving, the mine collapes 94 feet.  With little air to survive, we witnesses employees helping one another to survive and helping the dying.  The community unites together in Faith.  Without spoiling the movie I have to say it is one of the most powerful movies I ever seen .  I loved it! These type of movies are my favorite. As a Christian we all face adversity and tribulations and I enjoy learning how others get through their most difficult times.  I vow to learn from these circumstances.  I highly recommend 94 Feet!

Wonders of Creation~Oh, So Lovely

Zondervan's "Wonders of Creation" is just Oh so Lovely.  For coloring book fans as myself, these illustrations of animals and plants would look perfect in a frame once completed.  I have found that coloring does ease one's stress and brings contentment.  A wonderful treasure for your creative moments.  With Mother's Day right around the corner, this would make for the perfect gift along with colored pencils or markets.  It seems that adult coloring books are in high demand atleast at the places I shop.  Kudos to Book Look Bloggers for the stellar opportunity to review this book.

Ruth A Tucker's True Story of Finding Hope After Domestic Abuse

Ruth A. Tucker's "Black and White Bible; Black and Blue Wife" was difficult for me to read because I was in a similar position.  My husband was Presiding Deacon of our Church for years yet behind doors at home he was everything but christian like.  He was both verbally and physically abusive.  When I turned to the one place I thought could help me instead of was met with resentment for sharing the truth.  Abuse is hard enough to withstand but mix it with the politics of Church and male headship and than the victim feels totally alone.  I admire the courage of Ms. Tucker to write this book and share her real experience.  My prayer is that her story will resonate the higher ups in the Church.  From reading her publication it is apparent that this disturbing cycle occurs more often than once thought.  I feel that it is imperative for the clergy to read.  I am honored to have read this book for Book Look Bloggers.

Coloring the Classy

Zoe De Las Cases offers this classy, coloring book which deserves a thousand applauds.  I just love it.
With complete guides being sold on the adult benefits of coloring and tons of books offering tips and techniques it is no surprise that these coloring books are in demand.  There are coloring books for whatever your passion may be.  I'm fortunate, as a book reviewer to have seen many of these books first hand.  My favorite coloring books are unique; not like all the others.   Hence, the main reason I fell head over hills for Paris Street Style.  The cover is very sturdy, like a regular book and there is an elastic book mark to show your friends your finished pages.  The pictures are of fashion, a subject dear to most women.  I recommend this as a Mother's Day Gift along with some coloring pencils.  I was given the honor to review this wonderful publication through Blogging For Books for my honest review.

Forgiveness Is Not An Event, It Is a Lifestyle ~Kate Grosmaire

Heart wrenching and compelling, I would rather miss a night of sleep than to put this book down.  It is imperative that the reader read Forgiving My Daughter's Killer in it's entirety to fully appreciate how Kate Grosmaire was able to forgive her sweet daughter's killer.  Something that would seem so unnatural to most parents.  Her faith began as a child when she witnesses a young person die from a gun shot wound in her house.  Her Grandparents and parents lived a Godly lifestyle, instilling a love for God in their children.  Kate grew up turning to the Lord for everything.  This true story is a testament of how those things which are impossible to man; are possible with God.  Her daughter's killer is her daughter's boyfriend.  The family formed a love for him prior to this incident insomuch that they allowed him to live with them when he had a fallout with his parents.  Both Kate (the author) and her husband, Andy share this thought...they could not define Conor (the killer) by one single moment of His life.  Their hearts were truly full of God's Spirit.  I am so grateful Kate Grosmaire despite her loss, wrote this moving book.  So that unbeliever's can see the beauty of God.  The family keeps in contact with Conor after he is incarcerated.  There is an entire chapter devoted to questions and answers with Conor.  Here he elaborates on how the Grosmaire's forgiveness develops his faith in God.  I cannot say enough about this book, it's incredible.  BookLook Bloggers gave me the opportunity to review in exchange for my thoughts.

Fast Metabolism Food Rx

Haylie Pomroy (New York Times Best Selling Author) grew up with a number of physical ailments which became a real challenge to her.  Not wanting to live her entire life on prescription drugs she took a nose dive into researching and learning.  What she found out could put a damper on many doctor's businesses.  It is not by chance that she is a well known nutritionist today.  She has discovered the remedy to most illnesses is what we eat.  She even prescribes food to her clients.
Fast Metabolism Food Rx lists the foods we should avoid and equally as important, the food we can have.  This publication is a wealth of information and can be used over and over for reference.  I think it is the perfect companion for those who want to develop a healthy lifestyle.  I am honored to have read and reviewed for Blogging for Books.

Having a Martha Home the Mary Way

Ironically the book, Having a Martha Home the Mary Way, is written by Sarah Mae who did not like cleaning the house.  For those who do not know scripture, in the Book of Luke chapter 10 we read that Jesus was at the home of Martha, Mary and Lazarus.  Martha was busy preparing and serving the meal to her guests while Mary chose to sit at Jesus's feet and listen.  Of course this irked Martha and she made it known.  Jesus's response to Martha was that Mary had chosen the better part.  It's not a surprise that the author choose this title for her book.  Perhaps the one thing I have taken from this book and would like to apply to my own life is that, we all have responsibilities we have to do.  Jesus looks at our hearts and what is our priority?
Sarah Mae shares with us how we can incorporate our spirituality into our everyday chores.  She draws strength from scripture daily to motivate her to get her work done.  The book includes a 31 day plan where the reader works on different, smaller projects each day.  This way it doesn't seem so overwhelming.  I enjoyed reading this publication for the Tyndale Network in exchange for my views. It was very good.

Accolades for Peter Szondy's Mustard Seed

There is much truth and many lessons to be learnt in Szondy's "Mustard Seed".  This being the primary reason I prefer non-fiction reads and although this story is fiction, it certainly fits the bill.  In fact it is a mix of delight; fun and instruction.  It's one of those books that you won't be able to put down.  Never doubting, my soul is like a sponge whenever it comes to anything about Miracles.  Realizing I am in the minority, I highly recommend this book to all skeptic's.  Read with an open mind.
Early in the book we find the Hopkin's family at Church.  Little Sara who is only 8 years old is singing "Amazing Grace" with her entire soul.  She has a faith that would undermine most adult's.  The author ensures the reader recognizes her fond spirit.  Jesus see's something in Her.  Numerous times,  Szondy reverts us to the well known scripture Luke Chapter 18 verse 17  which reads '"Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."'
As many know, Sara goes on to perform many miracles (with God's assistance) throughout the novel.  Not wanting this review to be a spoiler, I choose to focus on the type of individual Christ would chose to do his will.  Sarah exemplifies these characteristics:  pure, sincere and childlike. This should be our goal each day.  I am so grateful I had the opportunity to examine this book in exchange for my honest opinion for BuzzPlant.  It deserve's an A+ and can be read for all ages.

A Biblical Case for Pretribulationism

Many individuals would debate pretribulationism; some say that there will be a rapture but question the time of great affliction and other's question the rapture itself.  John F. Hart, along with a number of Professors and Theologians confirm both the pre-tribulation and the rapture in Moody Press's publication - Evidence for the Rapture.  This book contains a wealth of information with The New American Standard Bible used as it's main reference.  This resource is deep and to understand it's concepts must be thoroughly studied.
With the focus being on the rapture wherein Jesus returns in the sky to round up his church of the day and those who have passed there is also much to be said about the events that surround Christ's return.
The contributors successfully confirm how Isreal is central to the tribulation and how they set up for the second coming.  They also elaborate on how the church is absent from the Earth but present in Heaven during the tribulation.
This book is thorough and has a strong argument for it's naysayers.  I was given the opportunity to review this publication for Moody Press in exchange for my views.

Annie Novak Proves You Can Grow Anywhere

Annie Novak does not miss a beat in her "The Rooftop Growing Guide -".  There is numerous reasons outside of lack of space that a gardener may want to transform their roof into a small farm.  Those who live in rural areas, as myself, would be thrilled not to have to contend with the many creatures on the ground - namely moles, rabbits and deer.  Thus I was excited to read this book and gain some new in sight.
The author suggests to the reader to '"Grow with the Pro's"' stressing to use her book along with the internet to receive latest updates and tips.  This book is a wonderful collaboration of experiences from your common gardener along with professional gardeners as well.  It is packed with information on everything you need to know from getting a permit to setting up a plan.  It is a true asset for all who want to embark on this adventure.  I just can't say enough good things about it.
I was given the honor of reading for Blogging for Books in exchange for my views.

Highly Recommended The NKJV Apply The Word Study Bible is Superb~

The NKJV Apply The Word Study Bible promises it's readers to '"Live In His Steps"' and I confirm with all the extra's this book delivers.  King James devotees will appreciate the study helps, there are numerous.
I noted right off hand a pretty large concordance included.  This is an appealing feature because I always had to buy a separate concordance to meet my needs.  The one included is sufficient.  In the long run, this will save the buyer extra costs.
As I said before, the features are massive, there's way too many to list.  I will list a few.  Thomas Nelson guarantee's this Bible for life.  Pretty awesome.
Every book in the Bible includes an introductory to prepare reader about the writer of the book and key lessons.  Along with this added bonus, there are plenty of notes and sidebars to explain what you are reading with cross references.  There are numerous tables, charts and maps.  Buyers also receive a Download Guide Apply The Word .  And if that is not enough there are videos and reading plans at the NKJV website.
I had the tremendous opportunity of reviewing the above for Book Look Bloggers in exchange for my views. I highly recommend this excellent resource.

Age Appropriate Bible Offers More Than Cuteness~

Age appropriate (4-8 years) and easy to understand The Veggie Tales Bible New International Reader Version is equipped with multiple tools to enhance your child's experience in learning the scriptures.
There is an introduction to each book to prepare the reader about who wrote the book and key highlights.  This is an essential guide especially for first time readers of the Bible.
Bigger words can sometimes be intimidating, so there is also a dictionary included to resolve that problem.
Parents will be pleased to know that chapters and sentences are shortened in an effort to keep the reader's interest.  Midway through the Bible there are 8 full color Bible stories as told by the veggie tales.  These are simply adorable and appear like comics.
For little minds that tend to forget "Remember This" has 100 entries of scripture to remember.  I was honored to read this book for Book Look Bloggers in exchange for my review.  This children's Bible actually is better than I expected and I very highly recommend!

Carley Roney The Knot Outdoor Weddings is saturated with phenomenal photography

Carley Roney The Knot Outdoor Weddings is saturated with phenomenal photography  in between wonderful ideas and practical advice.  She thinks of everything that the bride might not remember such as:  if it is a super hot day to be mindful of the guests with a short ceremony rather than a lengthy one out in the heat.  The Author offers ideas on what type of outdoor wedding you may want to have;  whether it be an estate wedding or beach, mountain, cityscape, or vineyard to name a few.  Depending on the readers choice of venue than there is a selection of decorating, food and entertainment.  There is also a much needed check list also included.  I was impressed by some of the newer ideas on how to decorate. The draped hupa is simply gorgeous.  Another fabulous idea is hanging rose pomanders from trees.  To defray costs Carley suggests fabric flowers which you can make yourself.
Overall this book makes for an excellent resource if you are planning an outdoor wedding.  I got the opportunity to read from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.  Author Bio

In addition to excellent short stories, there is a lot of fun facts to learn from. Hands down, I definitely recommend~

Amish fan's will delight in "An Amish Market" which includes four love novels contributed by Kathleen Fuller, Vannetta Chapman, Amy Clipston and Kelly Irvin.  This is a very impressive collection with extra treasures within it's pages.  Readers will find a mini-glossary of the German dialect spoken by the Amish.  There is a small chapter filled with Amish recipes.  A great feature for book club readers is the added questionaire after each book.  A brilliant add to the "Love Birds" section is an Amish Heirloom family tree which is a real help to it's readers.  Each author has their own feature page with their lists of publications. All these extra little goodies shouted "perfect" to me.  I was given the honor to read and review this book for  Book Look Bloggers.

The Perfect Gift For Mother's Who Have Lost Their Baby to Tubal Ligation, Miscarriage or Stillborn.

Kathe Wunnenberg offers much needed compassion in her new publication, "Grieving the Child I Never Knew" which describes in depth the enormous heartbreak one experiences after losing a baby to miscarriage, tubal ligation or stillbirth.  Long overlooked these mothers suffered in silence because others did not understand their grief and anquish.  Ms. Wunnenberg, after suffering three miscarriages, can relate to the scores of women who also anticipated healthy babies and instead go home empty handed.  Her words are gentle and kind and will help families and their loved ones realize  the same grief that others experience when they lose those they cherish.  I
Thank Ms. Wunnenberg for sharing this devotional because I was among those who didn't know where to go or who to speak to after losing eleven children to miscarriage throughout my first 20 years of marriage.  This is a much needed book and will aide many in the future.  I would like to add, that many of my loved ones felt that it was easier each time I miscarried because of the notion that I had been through this before.  There is nothing further from the truth.  As time passed it became harder to lose my unborn.
The author shares tools to assist the grieving with prayer and scripture.  There is even a space for journalism.  It is because of stellar resources like these that I appreciate reviewing for Book Look Bloggers.  This would make the perfect sympathy gift for those with recent similar loss.

Jessie Minassian Addresses How the Media Views Beauty Vs The Scripture Definition

Our young women buy into the lies brought on by the Media about beauty.  Trying to strive for perfection, they fall short of unrealistic goals and end up believing they are ugly and will never meet the bar.  Jessie Minassian tackles these issues which have plagued young adults for ages.  With the aide of scripture she defines the true meaning of beauty.  This author uses reverse psychology (i.e. '"How to Look Ugly"') in order to magnify how ridiculous some of notions society implicates.  She gets an all star review from me for hitting the nail on the head when addressing this topic and re-teaching teens.  This book is complete with questionaires with  room to add honest answers.   I am grateful to have reviewed this publication for Tyndale.  Definitely a book that will help young people accept themselves for who they are.

First Published in 1655; Gurnall's "The Christian In Complete Armour" Still Revelant Today

Amazing devotional fully backed up by scripture and an asset to Christians in their daily walk.  The author, William Gurnall, included in his book, how to overcome the enemy of our soul (a subject most minister's will not elaborate on).  Although this book was written in the 1650's, the lessons are still very revelant today.  Here is a phenomenal example.  Gurnall writes, '"Guard Against Discouragement.  Depression is one of Satan's most dynamic weapons to divert you from God's Purpose in your life."'  He goes on to explain some of the Devil's weapons to wear down the Saints.  Anyone who chose to follow God can relate to the experiences shared in this publication.  It is true and encouraging.  It will renew your faith and confirm your journey in serving God.  Clear and concise.  It's very easy to understand.  Kudo's to Moody Press for this superb publication.  One of the best devotional's I have ever read. I am honored to have reviewed for MP.

Silent Cry Is an Excellent Resource for Those Who are Dating

Having lived through an abusive relationship during the seventies, I was compelled to read Dorothy J. Newton's release of "Silent Cry".  There is an unspoken kinship among survivors who suffer in silence. How the public view's your family life and how you are really living is very different.  Trying to keep that secret because it's too embarrassing is tormenting.  Leaving takes a lot of courage.  Having a spouse that lives a double life is not the greatest deal breaker.  These men are so charismatic that individuals feel that if there is a problem in your marriage it must certainly be you.  Ms Newton gives God the glory for helping her with the pain and giving her the strength.  I urge young women who are dating to read this book.  I recommend it highly.  Note the red flags that shout Nate & Dorothy's relationship is bound to fail while they are still dating.
Dorothy's number one priority had always been her service to God.  Dating Nate, an unbeliever, she starts to compromise her values.  This book is full of learning experiences.  I was thrilled to review it for Book Look Bloggers.

The Daniel Fast for Weight Loss

Most Christains can identify with the rewards of spiritual fasting.  The type of fasting that draws us closer to God by sacrificing all food for a small period of time.  Fasting was second nature to me, growing up in a Church that held many fast services however I had never heard of The Daniel Fast.  Normal fasting requires giving up all foods and intimacy in marriages for a day or so to show our sincere desire to God. Susan Gregory explains in her newest book that the Daniel fast is a partial fast of certain foods for 21 days.  The foods come from the scriptures Daniel Chapter 1 verse 12 and Daniel Chapter 10 Verse 3 which we are to refrain from.  It's basically a fruit and vegetable diet which does not allow any meat, dairy or sugars.  The author has supplied the reader with some recipes.  In the past, followers would fast for their spiritual welfare although it is very true that you will lose weight on this lean diet.  I have one problem, in that I feel fasting is sacred and holy and that our hearts should be set on the spiritual growth rather than on the bonus benefit.  The Daniel Fast is definitely unique and different to any other weight loss program that I have read about or even tried.  The food is healthy but the program is strict and I wonder how many could actually complete the 21 days.  I was given the opportunity to review this book for the Tyndale Book community in exchange for my thoughts.
