A Tool To Learn More About Your Better Half

With lack of communication being high on the top of the list for why couples end up divorcing, Dr. Gary Chapman & Ramon Presson have compiled a book of questions that can strengthen marriages.  It is a marvelous tool to open your lines of communicating and learning more about the person you love.  It's imperative to dig deeper into your spouses thoughts in order to expand your relationship.  It also makes the couple find time to spend together in order to draw closer to one another.  Too often, relationships fail because work and activities take priority over their time together.  The couple than drifts apart.  The assignment the author's give us can be fun not to mention all of the new things we will learn about our partner that we never knew before.  This book is definitely a must read for all couples.  I was given the opportunity to read it from Moody Press in exchange for my thoughts. Dr. Gary Chapman is also the #1 New York Times Bestselling autor of  "The 5 Love Languages."

And The Two Shall Become One~ How Marriage Can Be Awesome

Being a Member of the Happy Wives Club website, it was only natural for me to volunteer for  BookLook to receive it's first book by the founder, Fawn Weaver.   I counted it a great blessing to find the website to be able to interact with other wives who cherish their marriages and adore their spouses.  Especially now-a-days when almost everything we hear from the media is negative in regards to the sacredness of God's Law.  Fawn had a mission, she decided to go on a worldwide search to find the secrets to a great marriage and what she found was hundreds of women who were happy to share their personal experiences.  There is a wealth of wisdom included in this true account.
For me, as a Christian wife who loves her lot in life, Fawn's movement brought me such joy in knowing there are others who feel like I do and that I am not alone.  Included in this book is the 12 secrets of a Great marriage, to name a few aspects...Respect; Trust; Belief in God; Laughter is the best medicine and keep outside interests.  This book confirms that true love still exists and that when we abide by God's expectations, we are truly content.  Not only do I recommend this fine book but also the website.

How to Keep Your Man Happy~

When a Woman Loves A Man Pursuing His Heart authored by James Ford Jr. is the perfect tool to read on how to keep your spouse happy.  We live in a generation, sadly, that does not cherish the sacred vows of marriage.  God would not ask us to do something if it were impossible.  My spouse and I hardly ever fight and when He walks into a room my stomach gets butterflies.  Many of the principles that Mr. Ford Jr. outlines for a wife, I have been doing for years.  I was so grateful to read this book supplied to me by Moody Press in exchange for my honest opinion.  Here's some of the divine information, biblically based that is presented in the book by chapter.  Chapter 2 When a woman loves a man, she completes and complements him.

Chapter 3 states when a woman loves a man, she submits to his headship (this is from scripture); Chapter 4 expounds upon when a woman loves a man she cherishes him.  The author sites examples of what a wife can do daily to strengthen their relationship.  This book is excellent in learning how to look outside of ourselves and do for the other individual.  Wives are directed to be less argumentive and more emotionally supportive.  Give credit when credit is due.  This book is a must have for all young couples and/or those looking to put the spark back in your marriage.

Goodbye to Yesterday~Awesome Amish Fiction!

New York Times Best selling Author, Wanda E. Brunstetter, presents us with The Discovery Part 1 of 6 in the Lancaster County Saga Series.   For this amish fiction fan, the book  was a big win, leaving me excited to read more.  I am intrigued to learn how this religious sect fares under trials and turmoils and the main characters...Luke and Meredith encounter their share.  Readers will also yearn to find out if their love will survive separation and tragedy.
Lack of communication is one of the top reasons for divorce in our era.  In this Amish Saga, old school Luke Stoltzfus forbid's his loving wife to work after losing his job (the only family income).  Instead Luke shuts down in self-pity.  Meredith fears that anything that she has to say will set her husband off.  Her days are full of walking on eggshells and trying to hide the newly discovered fact that she is pregnant.  Luke feels it is an answered prayer when his Uncle Amo's wants to train him to take over his gravestone engraving business while Meredith is doubtful if it is worth traveling out of state to Indiana for a career her spouse knows nothing about.  The two cannot afford for both of them to go so that means Meredith will be left behind.  Facing obstacles that many married couples encounter really made this book becoming to me.  The book is small and easy to read in less than a couple days but it is also engaging.  I highly recommend this new series and thank Handlebar Cental for the fond opportunity of reviewing.
