The Beyond Suffering Bible Is An Answered Prayer

I greatly recommend reading her true story of triumph and faith which inspired me as a teenager Joni's autobiography .  Her disability has drawn her closer to her Savior and she has become an asset to the Christian community as helping all those with disabilities.  She has worked to add wonderful resources to these scriptures such as ten guided Bible reading plans '"that help you walk through Scripture on key topics related to suffering and disability."'  On every single page there are connection points or study brief's which focus on Biblical suffering.  There are so many enduring features included in this Bible such as book introductions; Profiles; and devotionals.  All to assist and deepen your understanding of how Christians cope with suffering.

I love this Bible and have not been able to put it down since I received my copy from Tyndale in exchange for my thoughts.  What a blessing which has been designed to give as a gift.  I can't say enough good about this tool which will encourage and uplift your spirits. A+

Dr. Reggie Anderson won readers over with His best-seller "Appointments With Heaven: The True Story of a Country Doctor's Healing Encounters With The Hereafter".  He has had over twenty five years of emergency room experience witnessing diverse deaths often at the patient's bedside.  Now he gifts us with his newest publication "The One Year Book of Healing."  After witnessing suffering first-hand, he lends thoughts on overcoming these tribulations with Faith.

Nancy Leigh DeMoss Reveals Secret to Contentment

  Author Nancy Leigh DeMoss is truly a woman after my own heart.  In her new "our Journey to Joy" she confirms what I learnt many years ago.  While recovering from housebound agoraphobia and chronic depression I had to learn to change my thoughts and focus on my blessings each day in order to get out of the rut that I had fallen in.  For years, I have told my children that each day they have the choice to look for the good in each day or focus on the bad and it does make a significant mark on your attitude.  A thankful, joyful heart cannot have pity parties.  A thankful heart realizes that there are others worse off who may need us.  Ms. DeMoss could not pick a more suitable person than Joni Eareckson Tada to write the lovely forward to her book.  For those who don't know Joni, she experienced a horrendous accident as a teenager  that left her quadriplegic for the rest of her life yet she uses her disability to honor God and the strength that he gives us.  She has been an inspiration to millions, writing books, speaking and even drawing.  A kind reminder that we all have something to be thankful for.  I highly recommend Nancy Leigh DeMoss's book for anyone facing discouragement or heartache.  She includes a 30 day devotional which can be used as tools to begin your new mindset.  For those who have thought negative most of their lives, this can be a bit of a challenge but if  you use these exercises daily, you will be surprised at how little time it takes to think successfully. I commend Nancy for realizing what seems to be a real problem among women today, negative thinking.  By introducing scriptural references along with personal experience this book can be a gem for those seeking happiness.  I was given the priviledge of reading this book for MP press in exchange for my honest opinions.

Author Kay Arthur's Lord, I Give You This Day 366 Appointments With God was a rewarding experience for me.  I am grateful to Blogging for Books for the opportunity to get to know this writer.  I really enjoy her writing style and look forward to obtaining more of her books. This daily devotional beacons the reader to make a greater commitment to their service for Christ.  She explains how we can make God our center no matter what may befall us.  Highlighting many opportunities to please our Lord and draw closer to him, this book will walk us through many of the trials that we all

encounter.  With scripture, the author is able to uplift and encourage us everyday.  On January 3rd  she shares, '"Oh friend, let me assure you that no matter what changes are occurring in your life, in your job, in your family, in the nation there is always one stabilizing factor upon which you can rest: your God.  He is the immovable Rock.  You can hide in Him."'  Such inspiring words bring a hopeful start to each reader's morning.  If  you have been down and out, this book will bring you strength and courage.  Devotionals are awesome in that way, giving you enough to ponder on for  that day and than blessing your soul with something new on the next day. 

50 Days of Hope Encourages those facing Cancer

Lynn Eib, colon cancer survivor, shares her messages of encouragement to others facing cancer. Ironically, one day before I received my copy of 50 DAYS OF HOPE to review for the Tyndale Blog Network my mother called to relate to me that the doctors discovered another lump in her breast. Our family was looking forward to her reaching her five year cancer free diagnosis which was right around the corner. Our faith is in God as we await the results of the biospy. This book is the perfect gift to give your loved ones if only to share the awareness that they are not alone. Lynn Eib is able to relate on a more intimate level having experienced the ups and downs of treatment that others must face. She is able to share how her illness brought her closer to God thus finding the positive during difficult times. Yes, I highly recommend!
